Green infrastructure: A framework of structures, which preserve vegetation and manage storm water.
Gray infrastructure: A framework of structures, which are man-made, referring to buildings, roads, sewers, and so forth.
Intensive green roof: A type of green roof, which acts as a natural environment and are more interactive than other types of green roofs.
Modular system: A green roof system also known as the tray system. Usually built directly on an existing roof, this system uses a series a trays to house plants.
Urban heat island: Urban areas, usually cities, where the temperature is warmer than surrounding rural areas.
