Geothermal energy- A heat pump system utilizing the earth as a heat reservoir, either as a source to heat a building, or a sink to withdraw heat and cool a building
Renewable energy- Is energy that is generated from natural processes that are continuously replenished.  This includes sunlight, geothermal heat, wind, tides, water, and various forms of biomass
Greenhouse gas emissions- Is a gas in an atmosphere that absorbs and emits radiation within the thermal infrared range
Sediment- is loose, hard material lying on top of solid rock
Herbaceous plugs- Are plants lacking a permanent woody stem
Native plants and animals – Is a term to describe plants and animals that are naturalized to a given area in geologic time
Buy Fresh, Buy Local- Is a program that celebrates regional food and the abundance and diversity of foods available to you locally
Flexitarians- Used to describe a diet or a person who eats a "mostly" vegetarian diet, occasionally including meat
Human antibiotics (rBGH)- Is a synthetic (man-made) hormone that is marketed to dairy farmers to increase milk production in cows
Pasteurized shell eggs- Are gently heated in their shells to kill salmonella and other bacteria
