Below are a list of terms I collected during this project
Cooperative: A voluntary organization of individuals formed for mutual benefit. Food cooperatives are retail businesses owned by a community.
Food sovereignty: The right of a sovereign nation to provide food for its citizens, and the right to decide its own policies specific to its cultural and economic situation.
Food system: The interdependent parts of the system that provides food to a community.
Farmers market: Public market at which farmers and often other vendors sell produce directly to consumers.
Direct marketing: An alternative method of marketing in which producers market directly to consumers.
Organic food: Food grown without the assistance of pesticides, artificial fertilizers, human waste, antibiotics, hormones, or sewage sludge.
Vendor: A supplier of a good or service at a retail establishment.
Market manager: The person appointed to oversee the daily operations of the farmers market.
