Graduate Awards and Honors
Each year the faculty the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education nominates worthy students for the following awards. Award recipients are determined by faculty balloting.
Student Helen R. Metzler Graduate Reading Award. An award to a graduate student who has completed the Reading Specialist Certification and who has shown excellence in classroom performance as well as thorough knowledge and application of reading techniques. The recipient must have completed all certification courses at Millersville University.

The Kurtz J. and Mary A. C. Mock Memorial Scholarship. Awarded annually to a female graduate student in the elementary supervision certificate program who, possesses either a bachelor's or master's degree from MU, has a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrates superior leadership qualities.

Daisy K. Spangler Award. A bond presented by Beta Omicron Chapter of Pi Lambda Theta to a graduate student in elementary education who has achieved an average of 3.5 or higher and has had successful teaching experience.
