Writing Tutors

Ryan Almodovar

Ryan is a junior Economics major, with a minor in Spanish - which translates to having no social life. He is interested in music, having played both guitar and saxophone for most of his life. He can usually be found in the Writing Center, or sleeping somewhere in the library. Ryan has been working at the writing center since Summer 2008.

Amy Egitto

I'm Amy... I'm a senior (graduating in December!) with an English major and History minor.  I have played volleyball intramurals at the University since I was a freshman.  In addition to tutoring, I also have two other jobs on campus.  I enjoy reading and writing.  I also love sports, especially football and volleyball, and I am a very competitive person.  I also like to dance and sing, but my talents in those fields are limited...
I enjoy tutoring because I am able to help students with their papers while meeting new people and getting to know them.  I am also able to improve my own writing in the process!

Alex Kepler (Manager)

I'm a senior, majoring in Art with a Graphic Design concentration. Some of my interests/hobbies include photography, watercolor painting, the outdoors, and I love racing (NASCAR my fav). This is my fifth semester working at the Chryst Writing Center, and I keep coming back because I believe that writing is an essential skill that can always be improved upon. The tutors at the writing center are all wonderful, and the services we offer here are so helpful...and free!

Dan Krieger

Dan is a junior Secondary English Education major and a transfer student from HACC. In what little spare time is available to him, Dan enjoys philosophy, reading, writing, and rhetoric.

Dan is a new tutor at the writing center.

Diane Martin

Hi, I'm Diane Martin, the only gray haired tutor here. I have tutored for many years while attending MU part time. I just graduated in July with a BA in English, but in my past life, I was a registered nurse. I have two fine adult sons and  precious dog. I like reading, writing, music, and photography. I enjoy tutoring because I love words and believe in the power of language. When tutors and students work together toward a common goal, the results are win/ win.

Amy McCourt

Amy is an English Ed major and History minor in her junior year.  She is a member of Delta Zeta Sorority, All Greek Council, Order of Omega, and PSEA.  She has been working at the Chryst Writing Center since Spring 2007 and absolutely loves tutoring.

Bobby McLaughlin (Manager)

Bobby is one of the student managers at the Chryst Writing Center. With the unofficial title "tech person," Bobby takes care of many computer-related issues at the center, including this website. He is a Computer Science student, with a soon-to-be-declared Anthropology minor. Much of his free time is spent in front of a computer, playing a variety of video games or watching anime. After taking a years worth of Japanese through the class exchange program with F&M, Bobby is known to use Japanese phrases seemingly at random. Bobby has been working at the writing center for over two years now.

Josh Snyder

Josh is one of the returning tutors from the Summer Session and is currently a junior.

Justin Tenley

Justin has worked here at the Chryst Writing Center for several semesters and loves to help people with their writing.

Laura Wetzel (Manager)

I'm a junior English Education major and have worked at the Writing Center for the past three semesters. My interests include watching The Office, shopping for salt water fish, and playing the piano (in secret).
I continue to work at the Writing Center because I've seen transformations in students' writing in just a short amount of time.  The biggest reward is when students start to enjoy writing because they realize they are good writers.
