Advice about a Career in Forensic Science

Medico-legal Death Investigator
Forensic scientists working in this area are involved with many aspects of a death-scene investigation. Typically they serve as an extension to the medical examiner or coroner's office, as well as offering assistance to law enforcement personnel at the crime scene. Considerable experience as an assistant to the medical examiner as well as an advanced degree (e.g., MS) is required to apply. These positions are generally well paid but very competitive.

At the AAFS website individuals may consult the employment listings for openings in forensic science throughout the United States.
