Adobe Acrobat Reader Download Instructions

Please note that the printable forms are in Adobe Acrobat® (PDF) format.  They have been created with the newest version of Acrobat, version 7.0, to provide you with the most reliable, efficient, and effective way to share information electronically.  If you do not yet have version 7.0, you must download this new version before you try to use the forms below or else you will receive odd error messages

You will be taken to Adobe's website that lists the advantages of different versions of Acrobat.  To view/print the student forms , you only need the first one mentioned, Acrobat Reader, which is free.   To initiate the download process, just click on the words "Get Acrobat Reader free" at the bottom of the first column.  There are 3 steps to the download, which are explained nicely on Adobe's webpage (scroll down Adobe's page to see them):

  1. in step 1, you need to choose which language you wish (probably English), which platform you use (e.g. Windows 98 or MacPPC), and the nearest download location (USA); if you are not sure about the platform of your workstation, contact the Help Desk at ext 2371; (note: you do not need to check the box about searching PDF files)
  2. in step 2, you need to provide your name and email address; there is a link right there that explains Adobe's privacy policies; be sure to uncheck the two boxes if you do not wish Adobe to send you email or allow other companies to send you email;
  3. in step 3, you click on the red "download" icon; please note that this step does inform you about the size of the file that will be downloaded onto your workstation; the download takes approximately 5-8 minutes.

Once the download process begins, you will see a "Thank you" page. Please note that this does not mean that the process is finished yet - it has just begun. Next, a box will appear, asking you under which subdirectory (or folder) you would like to save this downloaded file.  Navigate to where you prefer to store downloaded files (some people keep all such files in a folder named "Downloaded Files") and click on the "Save" button.

Once you do that, a box titled "Saving Location" will appear and will provide you with an approximate time for the download.  Once the download process finishes, the installation process will begin; this only takes a few minutes. Just follow the instructions (mostly, click "Next" and "Finish"). When the installation finishes, click on your browser's "Back" button to return to this page. You are now ready to access the student forms.
