The committee considered fifty-seven proposals - ten of which were determined to be minor changes and moved to the appropriate school dean. Two of the proposals were for Distance Learning consideration. These were both approved (with minor revisions suggested) and moved on to the Associate Provost. Two proposals were withdrawn (by the proposers) from consideration in the current year following major revisions suggested by the committee. Of the remaining proposals, minor revisions were suggested to about half, and all proposals were approved at least in part. One proposal required a separation of items for consideration at the vote, and part of the proposal did not pass.
As in the past, for each proposal, the spokesperson received in writing (1) an acknowledgement that the proposal had been received with confirmation of the time the proposal was to be presented to UCPRC, (2) a statement of suggested modifications, if any, following the presentation proposal, and (3) an indication regarding the proposal's status following the committee's voting as well as the procedure to be followed for Faculty Senate.
The chairperson thanks all members of the committee for their diligence and commitment throughout the year. The dedication of the UCPRC members, especially during the last month in which approximately thirty proposals were reviewed and considered, was exceptional. Their support and ability to articulate policies and concerns in order to consistently uphold University standards were outstanding. The chairperson also thanks the proposers for their continual understanding and willingness to make revisions to proposals which had already required a lot of work.
