Welcome to the Office of Global Education & Partnerships at Millersville University of Pennsylvania. Global Education & Partnerships fosters global educational opportunities for MU students and faculty as well as the Lancaster County community in partnership with universities from around the globe. Programs include transnational study, internships, teaching, research and professional training.

Millersville is currently experiencing an exciting growth in its educational affiliations. At present MU has 15 institutional partners in Chile, China, France, Germany, Japan, Northern Ireland, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Spain and the United Kingdom.

MU is sending record numbers of its students and faculty abroad. We are in turn honored to host students, faculty and administration from our partners throughout the year and to join them in new and innovative joint programming initiatives. September 3, 2008 Please join us from 6:30pm-8:00pm on September 3rd in the SMC room 49 for our study abroad open house.  Attend this information session to learn about our study abroad programs and all of the different opportunities available to study around the world.

MU Latino Institute

Millersville University's Latino Language, Pedagogy, and Culture Immersion Institute in Puerto Rico has officially started.  The group of teachers, from various school districts in Pennsylvania, arrived in Puerto Rico on Saturday, July 26th.  One of the teachers is blogging about her experience while she is there.  To read about it please click the link - MU Latino Institute Blog.  To learn more about the program please click the "more" link below.

U.S. Department of State Students Abroad Website

The U.S. Department of State has created a website, http://studentsabroad.state.gov/, devoted solely to student travel abroad. The site contains all of the necessary travel information for students to have a safe and rewarding travel experience. It has several different sections including travel documents, health, emergencies, spring break, and many others. The site does a fantastic job of gathering all of the important student study and travel abroad information and putting it at one central location.

Service Learning in South Africa

Three Millersville University students traveled to South Africa in July.  All the students participated in unique service learning projects which ranged from working in an HIV / AIDS clinic to educating runaway children.  The students' stories were printed in the Lancaster Sunday News and the Millersville Exchange.  Please click more to read the full articles.

Announcing Two New International Academic Affiliations

The Office of Global Education and Partnerships is proud to announce the commencement of two new international academic affiliations.  Millersville has formalized wide ranging partnership agreements with the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa and St. Mary's University College, Belfast, Northern Ireland, effective Spring 2007.  MU students are participating in exchanges at both host institutions this semester.  Please contact our office if you are interested in additional information on study abroad or other programs related to these new linkages.
