Non-MU Study Abroad Program Policies
Whether students study through an MU or Non-MU program, they are required to first apply for study abroad through the Office of Global Education & Partnerships. Please do NOT apply directly to another study abroad program without applying to our office first. If you are unsure if a program will work for you, please bring the information to the Office of Global Education & Partnerships for program approval. There are also resources in the office to help students research and select a program that meets their needs. Please contact us to schedule an appointment to meet with a member of our staff. Below are the steps to study abroad through a Non-MU program:
- Research a study abroad program.
- Study abroad guide

- Internet
- Select a study abroad program.
- Fill out an application for "Study Abroad through a Non-MU Program." This application is available in the Office of Global Education & Partnerships.
- Bring the application back to the Cumberland House along with:
- A check or money order made payable to Millersville University in the amount of $40 for the non-refundable application fee (no cash please.)
- An official signed and sealed transcript (This can be sent directly to our office.)
- All relative program information (costs, dates, transcript issuance information
- An interview is scheduled with the Graduate Assistant of Global Education & Partnerships, for program/study abroad approval.
- Once approved, apply directly to the Non-MU study abroad program.
- The Graduate Assistant will contact you to begin the paperwork process .
- Bring your acceptance letter to Cumberland House from the study abroad program upon receipt.
- Return all completed forms and necessary documents given to you by the Graduate Assistant by the designated date.
- Apply for passport (if necessary).
- Apply for student visa (if necessary).
