Academic Policies Committee
  1. Membership
    1. The Academic Policies Committee is composed of two faculty representatives from each of the four academic units elected by Faculty Senate for overlapping terms of two years, one representative from non-school faculty elected by Senate for two years, a nd two student representatives elected by Student Senate for overlapping terms of two years. In addition, a chairperson is elected by Faculty Senate from the Faculty Senate membership at the first Senate meeting of the fall semester for a three-year term , provided he/she retains Faculty Senate membership. The terms of the chair and members begin in September and end in August of the appropriate year.
    2. The provost and vice president for academic affairs, the registrar or designee(s) are non-voting ex officio member(s) of the committee.
    3. No elected member may serve more than two consecutive terms.
    4. No two members may be elected from the same department. This limitation shall not apply to the chairperson of the committee.
  2. Functions
    1. The Academic Policies Committee reviews all proposed changes in academic policies, regulations, structure and related matters at the undergraduate level and reports its recommendations to the Faculty Senate.
    2. The Academic Policies Committee may initiate recommendations in academic policies, regulations, structure and related matters at the undergraduate level and submit its recommendations to the Faculty Senate.
