Governance Manual
The committee is composed of the assistant to the president for social equity and diversity as chairperson; the director of human resources; faculty representatives from the schools of education, science and mathematics, and humanities and social scien ces; representatives from finance and administration and student affairs, and students and other selected members to include inclusivity.
In conjunction with the affirmative action office, this committee is responsible for identifying problems in every aspect of campus life that relates to the achievement of full affirmative action and human relations. This committee coordinates and mon itors the activities of the State System of Higher Education and the University's Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Plan, and monitors the compliance with state and federal laws: Titles VI, VII, and IX; Executive Order 11246, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Sections 503 and 504, and the Age Discrimination Act of 1975. The committee is also responsible for promoting the promulgation of all affirmative action policies and appropriate legal information.
Modifications of this committee may be made by the University administration.
