Financial Aid Committee

  1. Membership

    1. associate vice president for student affairs--chairperson

    2. director of financial aid

    3. assistant to the president for social equity and diversity

    4. director of admissions or representative

    5. assistant provost or representative

    6. vice president for finance and administration or representative

    7. Two faculty members to be elected by the Faculty Senate to serve overlapping terms of two years

    8. Three students to be elected by the Student Senate for overlapping terms of two years

      This committee reports directly to the vice president for student affairs.

  2. Functions

    1. To review all financial aid policies on a regular basis. This includes a review of all federal and state guidelines as they are presented to the director of financial aid from external agencies.

    2. To establish and recommend financial aid policy.

    3. To serve as the advisory committee on all student employment matters. Student employment is considered an integral part of the financial aid program requiring constant review of all policies.

    4. To serve as an appellate body in all financial aid matters, and to interpret all financial aid policies concerning student employment to student employees and their supervisors.

    5. To review all SICO scholarship applications and to select Individuals for this award.

    6. To review and approve all athletic grant-in-aid awards including those MEDAL Fund awards that are for athletic grants-in-aid.

  3. Modification

    Modification of this committee may be made by the University administration.
