General Education Review Committee
- Membership
- The General Education Review Committee is composed of two
faculty representatives from each of the four academic units elected by
Faculty Senate for overlapping terms of two years, one representative
from non-school faculty elected by Senate for two years, and two
student representatives elected by Student Senate for overlapping terms
of two years. In addition, a chairperson is elected by Faculty Senate
from the Faculty Senate membership to serve a three-year term.
- Provost and vice president for academic affairs or designee is
a non-voting ex officio member of the committee.
- The General Education Coordinator is a non-voting ex officio
member of the committee.
- The First-Year Experience Coordinator is a non-voting ex
officio member of the committee.
- No elected member may serve more than two consecutive terms.
- No two members may be elected from the same department. This
limitation does not apply to the chairperson of the committee.
- Functions
- The General Education Review Committee will review and evaluate
the General Education Program, in consultation with the Academic
Outcomes Assessment Committee, and report its recommendations to the
Faculty Senate.
- The General Education Review Committee may initiate, review,
and evaluate proposed changes to the General Education Program and
submit its recommendations to Faculty Senate.
- The General Education Review Committee will oversee the
implementation of any approved changes tothe General Education Program.
- The General Education Review Committee will keep abreast of
national issues and trends in general education and evaluate their
relevancy to the General Education Program at Millersville
University. Findings will be shared with Faculty Senate.
