Intercollegiate Athletic Coaches Council

  1. Membership
    1. All members of the university coaching staff on state payroll exclusive of graduate assistants shall serve as voting members of the council.
      1. The athletic administrators shall be non-voting ex-officio member(s) of the council.
      2. The athletic trainer(s) shall serve as non-voting ex-officio member(s) of the council.
    2. Officers
      1. The officers of the coaches council shall be a chair, chair-elect, and recording secretary.
      2. The chairperson from the men's coaching staff shall serve as the chairperson of the coaches council in odd numbered years and the chairperson from the women's coaching staff shall serve as the chairperson of the coaches council in even numbered years.
      3. A recording secretary will be appointed annually by the chair from the appropriate women's or men's team area.
      4. Election of appropriate officers shall take place at the conclusion of the fall meeting.
      5. The chair and chair-elect shall serve as the coaches' representatives to the Faculty-Student Athletic Committee.
    3. Meetings
      1. There shall be two regular meetings held each year at 8 p.m. on the first Thursday in October and February.
      2. Special meetings of the council may be called by the chair or any member may request a meeting through the chair.
      3. In order to conduct business at any meeting, one-third of the voting membership inclusive of proxy vote must be present.
      4. Agenda items will be called for in advance of all meetings.
      5. The agenda will be forwarded to all official council members one week prior to the meeting.
      6. Proxy vote may take place by any official member of the council only if the member has official university business, an illness, or other professional obligations.
      7. Proxy vote will be administered through written notification to an official council member.
  2. Functions
    1. Purpose

      To provide the coaches at millersville University with the opportunity to participate in the formation of athletic policy and to make recommendations to the appropriate committees and/or administration

    2. Objectives
      1. To enhance the intercollegiate athletic programs.
      2. To review policies as they affect the athletic programs.
      3. To study and advise the athletic directors relative to policy in regard to other organizations (PSAC, ECAC, etc.)
      4. To recommend policy changes to the Faculty-Student Athletic Committee.
  3. Modifications

    Modifications require approval by the university administration. They may be made at any meeting by a two-thirds of a quorum vote of members present, provided the modification is provided to each member one week prior to the meeting.
