Policies in Force and Amending Procedures
- All policies, rules, and regulations developed through Faculty Senate and Meet and Discuss shall continue in force if not in contradiction with the CBA or the Statement on Faculty Participation in University Governance.
- Amending Procedures
- Amendments to section I, University/APSCUF Meet-and-Discuss Committee, are adopted by agreement reached at meet and discuss.
- Amendments to section II, Committee on Promotion and Tenure; section III, Committee on Sabbatical Leaves; section V, Faculty Judicial Committee must be introduced at a regular meeting of the APSCUF-MU Representative Council and approved by a majority
vote, but not at the same meeting at which the amendment is introduced.
- Amendments to section IV, Faculty Senate/ Curriculum Committee must be introduced at a regular meeting of the Faculty Senate and approved by a majority vote, but not at the same meeting at which the amendment is introduced.
- Upon approval by the appropriate body, as described in paragraph 2 or 3 above, the proposed amendment must be distributed by the president of APSCUF-MU to the entire faculty. The proposed amendment shall be distributed not later than two weeks prior
to the date of the announced meeting.
- The president of APSCUF-MU convenes a general meeting of the faculty for the purpose of acting on the proposed amendment. This meeting must occur within two months of the approval of the proposed amendment by the Representative Council or the Faculty
Senate.
- To be adopted, amendments to sections II, III, IV and V require a majority of the votes cast.
- Amendments to Faculty Senate committees do not require approval by the entire faculty.
- Amendments adopted by the faculty are reported to the president.
