University Theme Committee
- Membership (voting members: 8 faculty, 3 students)
- The University Theme Committee is composed of one faculty representative from each of the four academic units and the non-school faculty elected by Faculty Senate in the fall for two-year terms. Representatives from Education and Social Sciences are
elected in even-numbered years and representatives from Humanities, Science/Math, and non-school faculty are elected in odd-numbered years.
- Two faculty members appointed by the provost. One is appointed each fall for a two-year term.
- Two student representatives elected by Student Senate. One is elected each fall for a two-year term.
- One student appointed by the vice president for student affairs every other fall for a two-year term.
- The provost or designee and the University Theme Coordinator from the previous year serve
as ex officio members.
- The chairperson is a faculty senator elected by the Faculty Senate at the first Senate meeting of the fall semester for a three-year term, provided he/she retains Senate membership.
- The terms of the chair and members begin in September and end in August of the appropriate year.
- Functions
- The committee will recommend a University theme to the Faculty Senate.
- The committee will form a subcommittee of University persons to facilitate the development and implementation of the approved theme on a University-wide basis for an academic year.
