Undergraduate Degree Programs

Curriculum Requirements for Associate Degree Programs

The associate degree courses of study lead to an Associate of Science or an Associate of Arts degree. These degree programs are primarily career oriented with specific occupational objectives in mind.

The associate degree programs consist of 60 to 64 s.h. of study. The programs normally include:

  1. courses to develop communication skills;
  2. courses to broaden general knowledge of the natural sciences, the social sciences, and the humanities; and
  3. courses taken to satisfy a major field of study.

The distribution of the amount of work in each area varies with the kind of program as follows:

General Education          24 s.h. to 36 s.h.

Science and Mathematics	   6-9 s.h.

Social Sciences	           6-9 s.h.

Humanities	           6-9 s.h.

Competencies/Health 
Education/Electives	   6-12 s.h.

Major	                   24 s.h. to 36 s.h.
