Specific departmental requirements and the student's undergraduate preparation will determine the maximum number of hours for a master's degree; the minimum credits required are as follows:

1. 30 hours of approved graduate work beyond a bachelor's degree including a thesis or research project, or
2. 33-36 hours of departmentally approved graduate work of an extended course sequence.
