Section 4: Graduate Studies

Instructional II Certification (Permanent)

Teachers are required to complete three years of satisfactory teaching and 24 semester hours of post-baccalaureate study in order to qualify for permanent certification. In-service teachers must fulfill these requirements within a six year period.

Those planning to satisfy permanent certification requirements at the graduate level are encouraged to consider a master's degree program. Through academic advisement and careful development of a program of study, teachers can simultaneously pursue permanent certification and a master's degree.

Teachers interested in completing permanent certification requirements at the graduate level must contact the Graduate Studies Office for admission information.
