Section 4: Graduate Studies

Withdrawal From Classes

A student may withdraw from a course provided he/she conferred with both the course instructor and his/her adviser and has filed a course withdrawal form, which is available at the Registrar's Office. Failure to file this form will cause a withdrawal to be designated as unofficial and may prejudice the student's record for transfer purposes or for later course registration.

Up to and including the end of the third week, a student may withdraw from a course without a grade on his/her record. Beginning the fourth week and up to the end of the ninth week a "WP" (withdrew passing) or a "WF" (withdrew failing) grade shall be issued by the instructor; the "WF" grade shall be calculated in the student's QPA. The "WP" or "WF" shall be entered on the student's transcript. The tenth week and thereafter a student must receive a regular grade.

Students should be aware that there is no automatic drop policy and withdrawal from a course, in accordance with the above procedure, is the sole responsibility of the student.
