Visiting International Faculty

Welcome Dr. Maria Bezerra,

- from University of Fortaleza, Fortaleza, Brazil

 

Dr. Maria Enedina Lima Bezerra is currently the International Studies Coordinatior, and a professor of Anthropology at the University of Fortaleza.  She started out with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting at the Universidade Federal do Ceara in 1988.  She then came to Millersville University and mastered in English.  From there she went to the University of Florida to get her Ph.D. in Anthropology. 

Since 1994, Dr. Bezerra has taught courses that range from the Anthropology of Religion to Human Sexuality.  She is also proficient in four languages, Portuguese, English, Spanish, and Italian.  Her teaching interests include Spiritism and its followers, anthropological history and theory, anthropology of religion, as well as, Brazilian popular music.  We would like to welcome Dr. Bezerra, and thank her for coming to Millersville to teach us about more about Brazil.
