ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT FOR STUDENT AFFAIRS
Millersville University of Pennsylvania invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Vice President for Student Affairs. Target start date is July 1, 2009.
The Associate Vice President for Student Affairs reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs and serves as part of the Senior Management Team. The primary responsibilities include administration of the division for Student Development. Areas of direct responsibilities include Campus Recreation, Health Services, Student Programs, Campus Ministries, Judicial Affairs, campus radio station and yearbook. Significant responsibility is the development and implementation of inclusiveness programs. The Associate Vice President will work to foster strong relationship between Student Affairs and Academic Affairs to integrate a total student experience. The Associate Vice President will assist with the division fiscal management, development and allocation of department budgets within the division, collaborative efforts for the development and implementation of community service initiatives, formulating division wide goals and policies, and will serve on a number of University committees.
Required: An earned doctorate preferably in student affairs higher education or a related field; at least five years of broad and progressively responsible student affairs administrative experience that includes successful supervision of professional staff of at least three departments; record of leadership in developing and implementing successful programs; demonstrated knowledge of current student affairs issues; evidence of ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty and administration; evidence of valuing diversity and promoting a campus climate that encourages inclusion and participation by all students; experience addressing diversity issues and providing programs that enhance the college experience for a diverse student body. Demonstrated strong organizational skills and the ability to contribute toward a vibrant student-centered environment and maintain a positive atmosphere of cooperation and; a successful interview.
Preferred: Ability to function effectively in a team-oriented, collective bargaining environment of distributed leadership as a University and system leader and to assume a university-wide perspective.

DIRECTOR OF MIGRANT EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Millersville University of Pennsylvania invites nominations and applications for the grant funded position of Director of Migrant Education Programs for the School of Education. Millersville University, founded in 1855, is one of 14 institutions in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. The School of Education at Millersville University proudly serves as the home for the largest Migrant Education Program in the state of Pennsylvania. This program provides multiple support programs for migrant students and their families in four surrounding counties. The grant based program, continually funded and housed on the campus of Millersville University since 1968, works closely with the school districts in the three project areas and responds to the direction and general oversight of the program from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

The Director of Migrant Programs will serve in this grant funded position and report directly to the Dean for the School of Education. This is an administrative grant funded appointment for a dynamic, visionary individual who will be responsible to secure funding and manage the implementation of federal and state grants awarded to Millersville University to provide services to migrant children and youth who reside in and attend schools in Lancaster, Berks, Lehigh and Northampton Counties. This position requires extensive travel within the four county area and also requires occasional attendance at national events. The successful candidate must possess strong leadership skills, high energy levels, motivation and vision, and have a passion for innovation and forward thinking.
Required: Successful candidates must possess a Masters plus earned Bachelor’s Degree with at least one degree in education or closely related field; demonstrated knowledge of successful classroom strategies and techniques for teaching; culturally competent in Latino cultures and bilingual Spanish; knowledgeable about techniques of school based programs; knowledge of school district operations, personnel and programs; knowledge of techniques for teaching English as a second language; ability to manage fiscal components of the program, including evidence of successful grant management; proven leadership abilities and management skills; a demonstrated commitment to building a diverse community; demonstrated use of technology, evidence of superior written and verbal communication skills and a successful interview.
Preferred: Knowledge of State and Federal (United States Department of Education, USDOE) Policies for Migrant Education; demonstrated success in outreach to the community; practical experience teaching ESL.

DEVELOPMENT OFFICE Assistant Director of Annual Fund (Three-year Position)
Solicit more than $1.25 million annually from individuals, organizations and businesses for academic and athletic scholarships and student programs. Oversee work of student workers and volunteers; cultivate and solicit donors; track, analyze fundraising trends; recruit and train volunteers; prepare, manage budget; and do other duties as assigned. Three-year appointment, each year of which is renewable based on performance and fund availability.

Preferred: Fundraising experience; experience in an educational setting; expertise using fundraising database software and managing acknowledgement processes. Knowledge of fundraising trends, segmentation strategy.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Some travel and evening and weekend work.
Starting Salary Range: $41,800 to $52,900; comprehensive benefits package including undergraduate tuition waiver for employee and dependents.

CASH OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR Dining & Conference Services
Supervise food production and customer service serving 1000 staff and students daily. Duties include: cash transactions; reconcile cash drawers and safe, open/close location, shift coverage, food preparation/serving, inventory control, vendor liaison, routine cleaning. Supervise staff and students; hire, train and schedule student workers. Work requires use of university van for product transfers between operations.
Required: Two years experience in a supervisory or lead serving position. Demonstrated evidence of ability to: plan, coordinate, direct multiple functions in food preparation; supervise, train and evaluate; perform inventory control; do advanced math; maintain food safety and health standards; operate computer cash register; and lift up to 40 lbs.; basic PC skills Effective written and oral communication skills, customer service skills, evidence of commitment to diversity and equity, a valid driver's license, successful interview, background investigation, and post-offer physical. Preferred: Prior restaurant or school/university supervisory experience.
Hours: 37.5 hours
Shift: 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, Sun to Sat, varying days off, alternating weekends.
Starting Salary: $28,968, plus shift differential and comprehensive benefits including undergraduate tuition waiver for employee/dependents.
