Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Deborah grew up always involved in 3-D work. Her interest has ranged from sculpture to fine art metals to ceramics. Deborah focused on sculptures within different media as an undergrad and moved onto ceramics while at an apprentice in St. Paul, Minnesota for two years. Once she found ceramics, she stuck with that material and really focused in on it.

Deborah has been teaching at Millersville University since 1997. She is an Associate Professor for the ceramics courses that are offered at the university. She runs the Slip & Score Society which is the student ceramics club here at Millersville. She did not expect to fall into teaching, but was given an opportunity to teach and fell in love with it.
