Chapter 4: Faculty
Millersville's mission to "promote intellectual development through an exemplary liberal arts-based education" and its vision of "strong, responsive student programs for academic and personal growth" cannot be achieved without a highly qualified faculty, committed to teaching, scholarship and service. This chapter therefore addresses our faculty's effectiveness in these three regards and our support for them in these undertakings. The chapter also examines our efforts to recruit, retain, and develop a faculty that is highly qualified, diverse, dedicated to effective teaching and learning, and intellectually productive. It further considers how effectively our policies and procedures establish and enforce faculty responsibilities and ensure quality faculty performance.
