After Hours Care

Health Services is staffed with Registered Nurses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the Fall and Spring Semesters when the dormitories are open and the classes are being held. Walk-in hours are available 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m., 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. After hour care involves the hours after routine walk-in times.

When the Health Services is open there is a Registered Nurse on the premises at all times. After Hours care is available for urgent care only. Students are requested to phone Health Services at x3250 (717-872-3250) if they would like to be seen by the nurse when regular office hours are done. The nurse will provide recommendations for care. There is no physician available at these times and the nurse meets the patient's needs from the signed protocol/standing orders. Patients may be instructed to follow up with the university physician during office hours or referred to the emergency room for necessary treatment.

Health Services becomes Millersville University's health resource center every night and all week-end long. Millersville University students benefit from the RN's expertise with medical advice and TLC counseling. Parents look to Health Services for guidance when they have a student call home regarding an illness/injury. Campus Police and Residence Hall Directors and their staff refer students for evaluation for a variety of health concerns.
