Her fine schooling afforded her the opportunity to study with such distinguished artists as Heidi Castleman, John Graham, Scott Nickrenz, Jesse Levine, Eric Rosenblith and Kadzuhide Isomura of the Tokyo Quartet. Recently while on sabbatical leave during the 2003–2004 academic year, she earned an additional graduate diploma in violin performance from the University of South Carolina.

As versatile performer on both violin and viola, Madeleine Darmiento has given solo and chamber music recitals in twenty three states. Chamber music performances include grant award winning ensembles from the National Endowment for the Arts, New York State Arts Council, South Carolina Arts Council, and the Geraldine Dodge Foundation. In addition to her solo and chamber music recitals, Dr. Darmiento has been engaged as an orchestral player throughout her career and has performed with numerous symphony orchestras, among them the Reading (PA), Omaha (NE), Lincoln (NE), Charlestown (SC), Savannah (GA) Symphonies and the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Minería (Mexico City). She is in frequent demand as an adjudicator in southeast Pennsylvania and has served on the Executive Board of the Pennsylvania Delaware String Teacher’s Association.
