MENC Chapter #92
This organization is primarily of interest to students in the music education curriculum,
although all students are invited to become members. The chapter consists of elected officers,
two representatives from each class, student members, and a faculty advisor. Monthly meetings feature
guest speakers and/or other educational programs; chapter members serve as ushers for music department
concerts/recitals as their service project. Through its affiliation with PCMEA, members of the chapter
attend a variety of local, state, divisional and national music and leadership conferences in addition
to serving as student hosts for the PMEA State Conference.
Entrepreneurial Musicians' Forum
The Entrepreneurial Musicians' Forum is the affiliate organization to the Music Business and Technology
program at Millersville University. A student run organization, the EMF embraces innovation within the
fields of Arts Administration and the Music Industry, and serves to enhance the academic experience
Millersville provides its members.
The organization has recently taken a trip to The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington
D.C. where students met with Rita Shapiro, General Manager of the National Symphony Orchestra and Laura
Hern, Personnel Manager for the KCPA Opera Orchestra. As well, students toured the facility and took-in a
concert with jazz pianist Billy Taylor. The EMF will be traveling to New York City this fall to visit
Carnegie Hall and tour the MTV studios.
Dedicated to bringing leading music professionals to our campus, the EMF hosts several guest speakers
during the academic year including recent visits from Leslie Adams, Grammy nominated composer.
Members of the Entrepreneurial Musicians' Forum are engaged in professional experiences guided by
faculty advisor Dr. Mark Sheridan-Rabideau and as in any strong organization, the students'
accomplishments best exemplify the success of the experience. Christopher Brazee, former President of the
EMF recently successfully submitted a grant proposal bringing $20,000 to the Music Department to
assemble the Computerized Recording Instructional Studio (CRIS) housed in the Melzer Porter room of
Lyte Auditorium.
The Entrepreneurial Musicians' Forum invites alumni of the organization to return to Millersville's
campus and again become involved in its continuing success.
