Basic
Skills Placement Testing
To
assess student's basic skill levels and to ensure proper course
placement, students, at the point of admission, complete a writing
sample, a math placement test, and a reading skills assessment test.
Personal Counseling
A
team of an outreach and a peer counselor is assigned to each student to
guide the student to self assess and evaluate outcomes for personal and
academic growth through individualized personal counseling.
Career Counseling
To
facilitate student's sound career choice through the implementation of
career exploration activities.
Academic Advisement
To
insure appropriate course selection as it relates to student's major and
skill level.
Study
Skills Enhancement Workshops
To
assist students acquire the effective study skills to become independent
and effective learners.
College Survival Skills Seminars
To
ease students' transition into the University and Programs academic and
social environment.
Project Turning Point
An
academic/behavioral intervention designed to aid upper class students in
probational status achieve acceptable academic standing.
Project Success
Spring Semester intervention designed to assist freshmen whose grades
are below University standards regain acceptable academic standing.
Mid
Semester Evaluation Fair
Students review reports regarding their academic performance submitted
by their professor at the mid semester point.
