Learning Experiences
"In a completely rational society, the best of us would be teachers and the rest of us would have to settle for something else."--Lido Anthony "Lee" Iacocca
The Pennsylvania Governor's School for Teaching provides students interested in the teaching profession a full immersion in the coursework, theory and practice of becoming a teacher. PGST scholars attend seminars, hands-on workshops and electives taught by uniquely talented Mentors, the Program Director, National and State Teacher of the Year award recipients and visiting educators. In addition, they participate in "Mandatory Fun" activities, or CAKEs (Counselor Assisted Kinesthetic Experiences) based on educational theorists and principles.
