Aims and Objectives

The Intramural and Recreation program is designed to provide the entire University community with the opportunity to participate in a variety of formal and informal activities. These activities encompass team sports, individual and dual sports, outing activities, and competitive and noncompetitive activities.

A high level of skill is not a prerequisite to participate in any activity offered by this office. Therefore, all eligible students, faculty and staff are urged to participate in as many activities as time and interest permit to:

  1. Improve and maintain physical well-being.
  2. Develop skills in a variety of activities which may be carried on throughout one's life.
  3. Socialize in a recreational atmosphere.
  4. Fulfill the natural desire for play and recreation.
  5. Release pent-up tensions in an acceptable manner.
  6. Obtain relief from the strain of continuous mental effort.
  7. Have fun.
