Introduction
Millersville University is committed to following the letter and the spirit
of PA
Act 101 which mandates an effective recycling program.
Last year at Millersville University we recycled over 300 tons of paper,
plastic and metal materials. In doing so the University saved over $20,000
in deferred land filling fees. Additional revenues were realized from sales
to reprocessors. But the bigger story is that Recycling at Millersville
University saved precious landfill space, avoided attendant water pollution,
diminished consumption of raw materials---trees, oil and gas, metals and
energy. Our recycling not only avoids additional global warming and
air pollution, but it serves as a reminder to us of the interconnectiveness
of personal behavior to the welfare of us all.
If you have comments or suggestions, PLEASE
CONTACT US!!!
The more vocal the campus and community makes itself, the more the university
will respond. If you see items consistently not being recycled, or
would like to see the recycling of a larger variety of items, let
your voice be heard.
We want
to do more. We want to do better. Please
cooperate with us.
