SOCIOLOGY/PSYCHOLOGY DOUBLE MAJOR SCHEDULES

These schedules are designed to give you a set of guidelines as to when you should be taking certain courses. The Sociology and Sociology/Criminology majors are designed with a series of sequences in mind, and not taking those sequences in order can lead to catastrophic results for your timely graduation.

You need to be aware of when certain courses need to be taken; failure to take them on time will also slow you down. These courses are:

Also, if you happen not to pass one of these courses with the required minimum grade, that can delay your graduation as well. The minimum grades you need to receive in classes are:

You should also note that certain courses are only offered in certain semesters: SOCY 250 (Social Statistics) is only offered in Fall semester; SOCY 305 (Research Methods) is only offered in Spring semester; SOCY 231 (Intro to the Criminal Justice System) is only offered in Fall semester; and SOCY 232 (Modern Corrections) is only offered in Spring semester.

Finally, you are required to complete your Sophomore Review no later than the end of the semester in which you complete 60 credits. Failure to do so will result in your expulsion from the major. Please be sure to complete this in a timely manner. Materials to assist you with the Sophomore Review are available on the department web site: http://www.millersville.edu/~socanth/soph_rev_guide.pdf.

Following these schedules and maintaining regular contact with your advisor should ensure your timely graduation. Be sure to meet with your advisor before registering for classes each semester and before making any decision about adding or dropping a course.
