The successful candidate will have a BA in social science; be willing to work in Christian environment; have a drivers license; and possess good communication, writing, and social skills.

Responsibilities include completing adoption home studies, providing casework services for adoption placements, preparing children for adoption, compiling child histories, collaborating with county children and youth agencies, and recruiting adoptive families for hard to place children.

The Parent Ambassador will help ensure diverse parent participation in the planning, development, and delivery of all statewide and Training Program initiatives for The Pennsylvania Child Welfare Training Program. The Parent Ambassador functions as a team member of the Independent Living Unit within the Organizational Effectiveness Department for the Training Program.

 

High school diploma or GED; valid driver's license or ability to otherwise travel throughout Pennsylvania; involvement with the Child Welfare System within the past 10 years as the primary caregiver and decision maker for a child, including experience negotiating services and support, or significant involvement in the Child Welfare System as a child; and experience with grass roots activities required. Bachelor's degree in Social Work, or related field, experience with multiple human services systems, and previous advocacy experience preferred.


Must have excellent facilitation, verbal and written communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
