Do I Need A Computer?


Recent surveys indicate over 85 percent of MU students have access to their own computers. Although Millersville does not require students to have their own computers, most students find them a tremendous help.

Millersville University does not have a computer purchase program available for the faculty or students. We recommend purchasing a computer from any of the major manufacturers such as Apple, Dell, Gateway, HP, and Sony. Many vendors will offer an educational discount for higher education students.

Generally, any computer running Windows XP, Windows VISTA, or Mac OS X will work on ResNet in the residential halls and Millersville In order to receive technical support, bring your original restore CD.

Do I Need A Printer?


In addition to a computer, students should consider purchasing a printer. Print services are available in the public labs on campus, but Information Technology does not guarantee paper and toner are available at all times.

What Software Do I Need?


For compatibility, MU recommends purchasing Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Microsoft Office is installed in all of the computer labs and on the faculty computers.
