Job Responsibilities

 
Calling off Work

Instructional Designers...

are responsible for faculty/staff/student support while on duty. Designers are expected to field questions and problems that are brought to the Center via phone, e-mail, or people dropping by the lab. Designers are responsible for answering the phone, checking and responding to voice and e-mail, as well as responding to faculty requests that are passed on from Al Unrath.

Instructional Designers should return all messages within one working hour from the time in which they are left. (e.g. A message left at l l am should be returned by noon and one left at midnight should be returned one hour after we open in the morning). All customers should be given an estimated time by which their project will be completed or problem resolved, and should be kept informed of progress on a regular basis.

Multimedia Technicians, Web Technicians, and Web Designers...

Web Team

 

Web Technicians and Web Designers will receive their assignments from Mike Dulay or Diane Duell.

As Web Technicians and Web Designers develop and complete assigned projects, they should review them with Mike Dulay before sharing them with the requesting faculty or staff. Questions or problems should be discussed with Mike Dulay.

Web Technicians are expected to be competent in the use of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows, Netscape Composer, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and other wysiwyg HTML editors, and other web development techniques and tools. Web Designers are expected to be competent in the use of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows or Mac OS, Netscape Composer, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and other web design techniques and tools.

Report any problems with hardware or software in the Web Development Room to Mike Dulay. At the beginning of each semester, a handout will be distributed that details the procedures and policies for Web & Multimedia Services area.

Multimedia Team

 

Multimedia Technicians will receive their assignments from Stephen Gadsby or Diane Duell.

As Multimedia Technicians develop and complete assigned projects, they should review them with Stephen Gadsby before sharing them with the requesting faculty or staff. Questions or problems should be discussed with Stephen Gadsby.

Multimedia Technicians are expected to be competent in the use of Microsoft Office, Flash, Final Cut Pro, DPS Velocity, and other animation, audio, and video techniques and tools.

Report any problems with hardware or software in the Multimedia Room to Stephen Gadsby.

Instruct. Design Team

 

Instructional Designers will receive their assignments from All Unrath or Diane Duell.

As Instructional Designers develop and complete assigned projects, they should review them with Al Unrath before publishing them or sending them to faculty. Questions or problems should be discussed with Al Unrath.

Instructional Designers are expected to be competent in the use of WebCT, Blackboard, Paint Shop Pro or PhotoShop, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows, Netscape Composer and other wysiwyg HTML editors, and other web design techniques and tools.

Report any problems with hardware, software, or development of courses/projects to Al Unrath.
