General
Throughout the summer months, the Department of Industry & Technology at Millersville University of Pennsylvania offers a variety of technology camps for children and teens from grades 1-12. The camps offer participants the opportunity to receive exciting hands-on experience with fascinating technology, while stimulating creative minds-on learning.
Technology Camps are normally half-day, 20 hour per week sessions. At this time, no overnight accommodations are possible on the campus of Millersville University. However, Lancaster County can be a great place for the family to vacation at while their children attend our camps.
Parents can register their child for morning or afternoon camps depending on their families summer schedule. Every camp is packed chock-full with learning, field trips, interaction, and hands-on activities. Activities can range from making model planes to flying real ones; making model bridges to building life size bridges. Every summer new and exciting camps are being added to our schedule.
Daily Schedule
A child's camp experience begins
when they and a parent arrives at any of the on-campus locations. The parent and student is oriented to the camp by
their
Technology certified instructor. Students begin immediately learning vital information to apply elsewhere in the camp and for other activities. To offer a bit of "non-technological" social interaction, midway through the student's busy daily schedule is a half-hour snack break. Snacks normally consist of juice, soda, chips, pretzels, or similar. Parents can request special dietary snacks upon adequate prior notification to the Director.
Student's then resume their technological quest with a whole host of different activities and experiences dependent on the particular camp. A child's day ends when his or her parent or specified guardian pick them up and inform the instructor of their departure. At the completion of the week every child is awarded with a Millersville Technology Camp certificate and a Technology Camp t-shirt.

Camp Locations and Formats
Most of the technology camps arelocated in Osburn Hall, which houses the Department of Industry and Technology . After registering your child a detailed letter will be sent to you so that you know where to go along with the required parking information. We ask that the responsible adult comes in with their child for a brief orientation on the first day. This will be an opportunity for the teacher to give last minute information to parents and a chance for parents to ask questions.
Camps last one half day for an entire week. During each half day session kids get to take a break to have a snack and
check out what everyone else is doing. On the last day there is a chance to show off what they learned to parents and
grandparents. Included in the price of each camp, is a souvenir tee shirt and certificate of achievement. Instruction
is provided by local public school teachers and Millersville University faculty.
