This site was created by a group of students in the African-American History 272 class, Fall 1999, ofMillersville University. Under the instruction of Dr.Tracey Weis, we were able to create an informative site on the significance of Lancaster County to the history of African-Americansfound in central Pennsylvania. Quite a bit of time and energy was put into the establishment of this site and it is our hope that it will be useful to all members of society despite age, nationality, or interest.
The materials used to form this webpage were gathered from various avenues of the historical realm including texts that were used within our classroom setting. It is our understanding that the scope of African-American history extends far beyond the contents of our project, but we believe that we have given the reader a starting point to research the evolution of the Black community in Lancaster County. We want to thank you for visiting our site and hope that you have enjoyed your time here; please, return again soon.
