What's a Getaway Weekend?
It is a weekend for almost 40 new students
at a campground in central Pennsylvania. The student led activities will focus
on relationships, leadership, managing stress, the college experience, and
friends. The Getaway Weekend is a relaxing fun adventure that will help you
put your life in perspective. Questions about Getaway Weekends should be
directed to Pete Messimer, Associate Director of Housing, (717) 872-3162.
When is it and how much does it cost?
There will be Getaway Weekends this fall with at
least one weekend designed to address the needs of Exploratory Students. The
Getaway Weekend will not be scheduled for Homecoming, Family Day, or Fall
Break. The cost is $20 with $5 returned to you on the bus.
How do I sign up?
You can sign up during Orientation at the Getaway
Weekend table at the Activities Fair. Registration forms can be obtained
at the Housing Office on the first floor of Harbold Hall. New students
who want to sign up after the start of the fall semester should look for
the Getaway Weekend table at the Organizational Outbreak Fair the first
Tuesday evening of the fall semester. It's a great opportunity to
recruit a new friend to attend with you. As always, Transfer students
and commuters are welcome to participate.
