VITA: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
Sponsored by The MBA Program

Helping people with their tax needs for over 7 years.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides free federal, state, and local tax preparation for the Millersville and Lancaster community. The program is directed by Dr. Joseph J. Galante, who is also an Associate Professor of Taxation and Accounting and the Director of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Millersville University.

VITA was initiated in 1998 by Dr. Galante and is a cooperative effort between Millersville University, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue.

VITA volunteers are MBA students and undergraduate business accounting students who have undergone extensive tax training and have passed an IRS-issued examination.

VITA is open to senior citizens, students and other taxpayers whose income is less than $50,000.
