Provides leadership, strategic direction, and budgetary and personnel management for the winter and summer session programs of the university. Charity also oversees academic programming at the Ware Center, several significant outreach efforts, including off-campus partnerships with school districts and intermediate units.
Charity earned a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Virginia and a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Coppin State University. In addition, she has a Certificate in Management from Goucher College and completed the Special Education Administrators’ Certificate program at Harvard Graduate School of Education where she later returned as a group facilitator. Charity has also completed the Executive Leadership Program at Hampton University. Previous positions held include Associate Professor, Coppin State University and Endicott College, Director of Graduate and Professional Studies at Endicott College, Director of Off-Campus Initiatives at Coppin State University, Assistant to the Superintendent in DC Public Schools, Senior Research Analyst at American Institutes for Research, Special Education Teacher, and Technical Consultant at WestEd where she assisted state directors with special education policy compliance procedures. Charity has published and presented on numerous K-16 education-related topics.
