Bachelor of Science, (B.S.)
The Packaging Engineering Technology degree program prepares students for careers in corrugated and paperboard packaging. This industry is growing and has a significant presence in Pennsylvania. This four-year degree program will develop well-rounded, critical-thinking, and problem-solving technology professionals who are prepared to meet the industry needs of our region, the Commonwealth, and the nation.
The program focuses on the application of scientific, technological, industrial design, and business principles to the development of packages and packaging materials. This includes raw material production, conversion of raw materials into usable forms, industrial design, distribution, and post-use recycling and reuse. This program includes instruction and hands-on technical experiences related to the principles of packaging, materials testing, graphic and structural package design, prototype construction, print for packaging, manufacturing, as well as related business and marketing concepts including regulation and quality control.

Osburn Hall is uniquely equipped to teach packaging development and design using hands-on, project-based learning. Packaging Engineering Technology students have access to several classroom and laboratory facilities such as:
