Assistantship Information

Minimum Qualifications

• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Strong time management skills and work ethic
• Ability to work in highly stressful situations/environments
• Certified athletic trainer credential (ATC)
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in state of Pennsylvania
• Ability to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends
• Willing to pay for and submit all background checks and clearances
• Accepted into a Millersville University Graduate Program

Preferred Qualifications

• Desire to work clinically as an athletic trainer after completing graduate education
• Experience utilizing electronic medical records

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism
• Highly motivated, adaptable, willing to take initiative
• Comfortable working with a diverse student-athlete, coach, and sports medicine staff population
• Able to work independently and in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Assist full-time athletic trainers in providing prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries
• Provide athletic training coverage for assigned sports
• Maintain electronic medical records and other appropriate documentation
• Communicate regularly with athletic training, strength and conditioning, and coaching staffs
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer
