About Career Week

To help students focus on their career plan and discover job opportunities in their field, the office of Experiential Learning and Career Management at Millersville University hosts an annual Career Week. The activities and workshops include resume critiques, job search, personal branding, networking, LinkedI and more!

Snacks will be available!  For each session you attend, your name will be entered into a drawing to win one of several great prizes (Amazon Firestick, Amazon Echo and Saxbys Growler).  Increase your chances to win by attending as many sessions as you can.

With over 150 employers attending the Spring Job & Internship Fair, you might feel overwhelmed and not know how to plan your approach to the day.  By attending this workshop you will learn how to research employers and positions; strategies on how to approach employers, and how to follow-up with recruiters after the fair.

Learn more about Federal Service Opportunities through AmeriCorps
Explore opportunities provided during a Year of Service through the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) including AmeriCorps NCCC, AmeriCorps State & National, and AmeriCorps VISTA programs. Learn about the application process, the difference between the different AmeriCorps programs, and hear about where to find potential opportunities that align with your areas of interest. This session will review the different benefits of service and get insight from current AmeriCorps Service Members on their experiences.

Networking and Branding with LinkedIn
College students can benefit from using “the world’s largest professional network”.  LinkedIn is an online professional networking tool that boasts over 300 million members in more than 200 countries (representing 170+ industries). LinkedIn can be used to:  Research jobs and industries, exchange information or advice, locate and contact professionals.  Additionally, LinkedIn lists job, internship, and volunteer opportunities. 79% of job opportunities are posted on at least one social network, and 77% of those are posted on LinkedIn.  Attend this session to gain tips for utilizing LinkedIn for networking and branding yourself as a team member, job seeker, and professional.
