Master of Science IN INTEGRATED SCIENTIFIC APPLICATIONS (MSISA)

msisa program

The goal of the Millersville University MSISA program is to produce exemplary professionals with cross-disciplinary scientific skills and business knowledge. The MSISA degree was developed in response to local and national trends indicating the need for highly skilled, technically astute scientists possessing good business sense and excellent collaboration skills. There are four specializations within the program.

As part of the core curriculum for the MSISA program, students must take 3 four-credit online courses in business: Business Operations and Analysis, Accounting and Finance, and Strategic Management/Leadership. These courses are offered through Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania and automatically transfer to Millersville to fulfill MSISA degree requirements.

MSISA Program & my financial aid

According to federal requirements, students need to be enrolled in at least six credits each semester for loans to be applied to their account. During semesters when students are taking less than six credits at Millersville but are also enrolled in the online business courses at Shippensburg, the Financial Aid office at Millersville can combine the credits from both institutions to satisfy this requirement. However, the Financial Aid office at Millersville will need confirmation of your enrollment at Shippensburg in order to process your financial aid.

There are many different requirements to receive and maintain financial aid eligibility. For information about your general eligibility, receiving your awards, the process of calculating eligibility, maintaining your eligibility throughout your program, and the effect withdrawing or taking a leave of absence may have on your financial aid, please refer to the sections below.

To confirm your enrollment at Shippensburg you must:

  • Complete a Consortium Agreement with Shippensburg & Millersville.

    • MSISA students enrolled in courses at Shippensburg and Millersville are asked to fill out PAGE 1 of the Consortium Agreement, and then send the form to the Office of Financial Aid at Shippensburg University (see below for contact information).

    • Officials at Shippensburg will need to complete PAGE 2 and send the form back to the Office of Financial Aid at Millersville by email, fax or mail.

    • Please note that students do not need to fill out the form entitled "Request to Take Course at Another University for Transfer of Credit Back to MU."

loan deferment

You may run into issues with servicing on your prior loans that are in a repayment status. Each university can only report attendance at their own institution, so if you are taking courses at both institutions, you may need help in completing deferment forms.

The National Student Loan Clearinghouse will only see that you are reported as "less than half-time," and therefore your lenders may expect you to be making payments.

Please contact Emi Alvarez in the Office of Financial Aid at: emi.alvarez@millersville.edu or 717-871-5100 if you need assistance with this issue.
