Program

All events will be held in the Ford Atrium, McComsey Hall. All sessions are free and open to MU faculty, students and the public.

  • 11:00 am - 12:00 pm:   Igor A. Kotler, Lecture about the Shoah Foundation, how it started, how it collected Holocaust survivors' testimonies, what is the outcome of this endeavor
  • 1:10 pm - 3:10 pm:  Igor A. Kotler, Workshop on oral history, its methodology and importance
  • 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm:  Martin Dean, Lecture Approaching Babyn Yar

Dr. Dean will examine Babyn Yar's place in the evolution of Nazi genocide and describe Jewish responses in Kyiv. Combining photographs and witness testimony, his presentation will analyze the events of September 29-30, 1941.
