Dr. David Henriques (he/him/his)

With over 25 years of higher education experience, David has served as an advocate for student success, student persistence and graduation. Philosophically, David believes in empowering students via pedagogy, programming and advising support. In fact, David's mantra to students is: "success is a choice; What choices will you make?" Prior to coming back to MU, David was the Associate Dean in the School of Academic Programs and Services at Shippensburg University. David directly oversaw their program for undeclared students and their campus wide placement testing program. He also chaired their University Board of Governors Scholarship Program. Prior to Shippensburg, he also worked at Indiana State University and IUP. He is a frequent speaker at local, regional and national conferences. David earned his BA in psychology and his MS in clinical psychology from MU. He also has a MA in adult education and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from Widener University. His research interests focus on advising, student resiliency, learning communities, and programming for undecided / undeclared students.
