One of the most exciting moments for me as an academic leader is when I meet Millersville University alums unexpectedly in public. Last Monday afternoon, while touring the Clifton Center as part of the PM-LGH Board Education visit, I met Jerry Broniec, class of 2010, on the 5th floor. As a perfusionist, Jerry is a highly trained healthcare professional who operates life-sustaining equipment, particularly the heart-lung machine, during surgical procedures that require temporary replacement of the heart and lung. Jerry is an example of how MU prepares our students to become actively engaged experts in their professions. Fun fact: Did you know that CEO of Penn Med, Mr. Kevin Mahoney, is also a Marauder?
