Faith & Spirituality

Welcome

Millersville University Supports a holistic approach in the learning and development of our students; and we believe that the health and wellness of our students plays an integral part in their academic success and personal fulfillment.  As Student Affairs continues to support initiatives intended to promote the health and well being of our students, we challenge students to develop healthy lifestyles including the exploration of their faith or spirituality. Spiritual wellnessinvolves understanding the meaning and purpose of life often within a community of people. It includes the capacity for love, respect, discipline, and selflessness, and allows us to experience inner peace. It may involve a connection with a higher power through prayer, worship, or meditation. The expression of faith and spirituality takes many forms for students. Those interested in student organizations that offer spiritual, religious, social and cultural programming are encouraged to browse the many organizations dedicated to faith and spirituality listed in the organizations directory found at https://getinvolved.millersville.edu for organizations matching their interests.

Many local religious organizations demonstrate a commitment to spiritual development by hiring dedicated Campus Ministers to work in fellowship with our Millersville University Students and campus community. Although these Campus Ministers are not members of the University staff, they work in cooperation with the university to promote the health and well being of our students. Millersville area churches welcome students to their services; several sponsor programming specifically for students. Students who do not find their preference in Millersville will find many places of worship available in the nearby city of Lancaster.of the ways in which our Division’s staff assist students include helping you find the financial resources to meet the cost of attending college and assisting you in getting oriented to the university community. We offer health care and counseling as well as assistance in career planning. We provide student housing and work to ensure the safety and security of the campus.
