Join Us for the 2016 International Policy Conference!
The annual International Policy Conference at Millersville University introduces and highlights the ability of policy efforts to impart change at both the community and societal level in ways that impact the lives and the quality of our society. As such, our annual theme recognizes the many issues that call for greater research, debate, and action from the local to the global level and all points in between. We aim to present and enlighten students and our community to understand or ignite change. Volunteerism, activism, policy making, conscientious business practices, or collaborating with grass-roots community efforts—are especially encouraged. By collectively working with faculty staff, regional, national and international partners, colleagues, and field experts, Civic and Community Engagement at MU is proud to bring a variety of topics, opinions and perspectives to this conference. Our hope is that everyone leaves with valuable new insight and is energized to make a difference!
Some of our past topics have been:
- Walker Fellow for those interested in government affairs, politics, or civic responsibility
- Center for Public Scholarship and Social Change has opportunities available which will specifically enhance the resume of Sociology, Public Relations, Social Work, Spanish, Government, and Education majors
- Sustainability opportunities include Terracycle, helping with an organic garden, and more!
- Internships, volunteer opportunities, and career services for all students, programs, and majors through Experiential Learning and Career Management (ELCM)
